What Is a Survey Mission?

A Survey Mission is a volunteer intentionally surveying an area using technology — not just reporting a single piece of debris. Each mission records a GPS track, the equipment used, and the waterway searched, building a permanent record of where we've looked and what we found.

Over time, survey missions feed the Survey Coverage Map, helping us identify gaps, prioritize recovery, and measure our reach.
