Debris in the Indian River Lagoon may be located on the lagoon bottom, in canals, beneath docks and bridges, around spoil islands, near boat ramps, in seagrass beds and in open water. Because most of these areas are underwater and difficult to see, the full picture is still being built.
Notice: The full amount of submerged debris in the Indian River Lagoon is not currently known. Space Coast Water Sweep is building a community-supported survey and removal system to document what is present, where it is concentrated and what impact it may be having.

9. Safety Notice
Do not remove debris that is dangerous, too heavy, leaking, attached to wildlife, located in unsafe water or potentially hazardous. Report the location and allow a trained or authorized team to assess it.
